The History of Minstrel Court
Located in the enchanting heart of Cambridge, Cambridshire, Minstrel Court bears rich historical roots that make it one of the most fascinating wedding venues in the region. Commissioned in the early 17th century by the land owning aristocrat, Sir Robert Boothby, Minstrel Court started as a mere country house with idyllic private gardens. Over the centuries, however, its aesthetic appeal and serene ambience led to its evolution into an enviable resort. After surviving numerous tumultuous times, including the English Civil War and World War II, Minstrel Court was purchased in 1974 by Derek and Sandy Maxfield. Recognizing its unique potential, they painstakingly renovated the ageing building, transforming it into a prized wedding venue for the local community.
